In the interest of trying to avoid naming and thus neutering this perceived dissonance between humanness today and ‘nature’, I can define it only as a sense of immense wrongness,
disconnect, disembodiment, and inconsistency. In Western culture we are consumed by the
seductiveness of the image, to the detriment of ‘honest’ experience, and perhaps the kind of passive contentedness that Homo Habilis may or may not have enjoyed.
